Reserve teachers play an important role at Eden Prairie Schools. They help ensure all students continue to receive excellent educational opportunities by providing the best instruction possible in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Please consider joining the Eden Prairie Schools team in our Reserve Teacher program.
NOTE: You do need a Bachelor’s degree and a Short Call Substitute Teacher License issued by PELSB to be a substitute teacher in Minnesota schools, but you do not need to have a regular teaching license to become a substitute teacher. Please read below for more details.
- A valid, current Minnesota teaching license is required to be a Reserve teacher . This license permits you to substitute in grades K-12.

- A four year college degree which meets the requirements for applying for a Short Call/Limited Teaching License with the Minnesota Department of Education. If you have a 4-year degree, but not in education, contact the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) to learn about the requirements to receive your Limited Short Call Sub license to be eligible to substitute teach at a Minnesota school district. Full Day Rate:
$134/day for days 1-24, $144/day for days 25-49, $159/day for days 50+
