Provide or arrange for the psycho-social, emotional, and/or financial needs of patients, families and staff in the psychiatric unit and medical setting. Provide social work services in the Psychiatric unit and medical setting (currently Dialysis) consisting of psycho-social assessment, counseling, guidance, support, discharge planning, financial counseling, team planning, patient/family education, and other services to patients and families as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Master’s degree required from accredited school of social work. Current MN Social Work license (minimum licensure level-MSW). Previous social work experience in a medical setting preferred. Should have knowledge of public assistance programs, community resources, good interviewing techniques, and counseling skills. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide the care needed by the (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric) patient group.
Shifts: Casual (less than 32 hours biweekly) days.
